Oops, now Jace has Brandon involved. See that thing Brandon is holding? Jace made it for him. He wrapped it up so Brandon would think it was a bat from him. It turned into a Bazooka.

By the way, did you know a Nerf gun can also shoot baby carrots? Yep, Brandon showed Jace how to do that, too.

Yes, it was a fun Christmas. We all had our hair done while we were dodging bullets and arrows.

Wrapping Paper Rolls

I don't mean to brag, but sometimes I amaze even myself. I was finishing up wrapping last night and ran out of boxes. Thank goodness I saved all of these.

The empty rolls are just something you can't throw away. You never know when you might need them for something.

I also had this roll of cellophane paper left over from all those stupid lovely Christmas plates that I did yesterday. I just had little things left to wrap so I cut the roll down to size.

It just fit perfect for the ear warmer that I made for Jalynn. Jalynn, pretend you didn't read this and act surprised tomorrow night!

I wrapped it in the cellophane paper and the box problem was solved!

I just might go out today and buy more little things to use up the rest of the rolls!

Snowman Soup

I was little Martha Stewart today. No, I didn't go to jail, I baked and made the guys that work for us little Christmas plates with goodies. First I made Snowman Soup. It's just hot chocolate mix with marshmallows and a candy cane.

Here's the label I found in blog world. I'm so sorry, I don't remember where I found it. I printed it on Christmas paper.

So I put the cup on a Christmas plate with candy and the cookies that I baked and some of the Candy Cane pretzels. On yeah, I also dipped marshmallows on a Popsicle stick and rolled them in graham cracker crumbs. Get it? S'Mores! Wrapped the whole thing in cellophane paper and there you go!

I know, the real Martha would have put a beautiful bow on it, but I was bored with the whole thing by now!

Candy Cane Pretzels

I will never ever dip pretzels in melted chocolate again! People probably have been doing this for years but I just saw it all over blog land this year. All you do is melt candy Kisses on the pretzels in the oven. Brilliant, huh? No mess!

You just put the pretzels on a foil lined tray and put a candy Kiss on top. I used the Candy Cane Kisses. Put it the oven at 170 degrees for 7 minutes. Take them out and put an M&M on top and pop them in the freezer until they're hard again. They taste great!

While You All Were Nestled All Snug In Your Beds

I was receiving these texts right before I was on my way to Krissi's to take care of the girls.

I grabbed a red marker, ribbon, beads, and bells and headed on over to her house. First things first, the necklace.

Work with me here. See the red nose, gold eyes and red and white antlers? Keep looking. Okay, so it's not going in the Craft Hall of Fame, but Triniti liked it. Now our problem started. I grabbed a permanent red marker when I left. I started to make Triniti's nose red when my granddaughter who is smarter than her grandma, wouldn't have any part of it. I even got the lecture from a 5 year old about how we do not write on ourselves with a permanent marker! We searched her whole house and finally found a washable red marker. Thank you God for little favors!

Just a Little Christmas Gift

I went last week to get my hair cut and the grey out highlighted and thought I should take Marsha something. So I took Santa's underwear!

I took some red glittery felt and cut out the front and back. The stockings were just left over material that I couldn't let go to waste. I think I'll stick a candy cane in them.

I cut a hole in the back piece and covered it up. By the way, I need a hand model.

Added some buttons and hot glued the two pieces together.

I printed off the little saying on Christmas paper and tied with a ribbon to the button.

Stuffed the whole thing with candy from the back.

There you go. Santa's underwear!

"Sew" Much To Do, So Little Time!

And it sure doesn't help that I was lucky enough to get the flu on Friday! Thank goodness I finished this Christmas purse order before I was down and out. She wanted a glittery Christmas fabric purse.

Gingerbread House

Jalynn is my "go to" gingerbread house maker. We've been making them together for years and for that last couple, she does it for me. Thank you, Jalynn! I don't have the patience or the talent to do it. The kids were here yesterday so we went to the store to get the kit. She and I were thrilled when we found one this year with the walls already in place - that's always the worst part. We came home and she got right to work.

Look at all that icing she had to put on. I would have given up and been sitting in front of the television eating the icing by now. Where are Jordyn and Jace you ask?

Waiting patiently watching Ramona that we rented. Okay kiddo's, time for the decorations!

All finished! Beautiful! Oh yeah, and so is the house.

Away in a Manger

I was at Hobby Lobby one day and had an ornament I was going to buy in my cart. As I was strolling around I kept looking at it and thinking that I could just make it. It was Baby Jesus laying in a wood manger with a wire hanger and a star at the top. Let the fun begin! First off, how was I going to make the manger? Should I use Popsicle sticks.....wooden matches...? Then I was in the aisle with these:

No, those are not bird nests, they're mangers. Score! Now I need straw. Found this.

Score again. I went and got a wood little ball, felt, and a button star. Don't worry, I told the nice little lady that knows my name and checks me out what I was making. I came home and made the manger with hay.

I used the wood ball to make Baby Jesus and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes (the white felt) and laid Him in the manger.

I tied twine to the manger and added the star button and now it's on my Christmas tree!

I know it's not selling at Hobby Lobby, but I love mine!
